About the The Dance Factory

The Dance Factory was established by Becky Smith in 2001.  Founded in North Platte, the studio continues to grow based on its philosophy of being a comprehensive dance academy.  The Dance Factory offers current and exciting choreography while remaining true to the roots of dance education.  A strong core curriculum consisting of dance vocabulary, dance history, and an understanding of dance are the main supports throughout every class.

Dancers, ages 2 and up, are invited to join various levels of ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, lyrical, hip hop, pre pointe, baton and baby jumpstart classes. At The Dance Factory we enjoy an annual recital performed at the North Platte High School Auditorium in May. For this entertaining event, dancers have the option to perform a personally choreographed dance that highlights not only what the dancers have gained during the year, but their individual skills and love of expression.

Classes typically begin in August and are completed within the first two weeks in May.  During this time, dancers come weekly (excluding Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and Spring Break) to practice with other dancers at their same level.  Our philosophy is to group dancers where they belong and with peers they will thrive amongst.  Keeping this in mind, some dancers will be moved up earlier than others, as we hope that great dancing knows no bounds.

If you have any questions, or would like to come by for a tour, please feel free.  We'd love to meet you and show you around.  If you want to schedule a time, call 308-532-4720.  Registration is never a requirement, but we think you'll fall in love with The Dance Factory, just like we have.
